Summer School Power Hour: August 1 - 18, 2016
Power Hour is a program designed to help those students who are below grade level in either math or reading. We use test scores to qualify students and allow them to use the program. It is not a homework help area, but a place to give the students extra instruction and practice. We cover basic skills in both math and reading. In reading we work mainly with fluency and comprehension skills. Basic facts and number sense are our focus during our math time.
School Year Days/Times offered for 1st through 5th grade (starts around November each year):
Reading: Mondays and Wednesdays (students must attend both days)
Math: Tuesdays and Thursdays (students must attend both days)
Morning sessions: 7:30 am – 9:00 am
Afternoon sessions: 3:45 pm– 5:15 pm
The pick up time for the afternoon groups is 5:15. We need you to be prompt about picking up your child. If you have to miss a day for any reason please email your Power Hour teacher or contact the office. If this is abused you may be asked to leave the program. Also, if you have four consecutive unexcused days you will be asked to leave the program.
We appreciate all of your cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns you may contact any one of us. Thank you.
