Welcome to Rogers High School - It’s a great place to learn!  The 2016-17 school year marks our 14th year providing education to the Rogers, Otsego, Albertville, Dayton and St. Michael communities.  I am extremely excited and honored to be serving the staff, students, parents, and community as principal of RHS.  Each day from 7:30am-2:10pm RHS is home to over 1,500 students in grades 9-12 and over 130 staff members.  We have a first class staff that is dedicated to ensure the success of all learners.

We are proud of the many accomplishments our students have earned in academics, arts, athletics, and activities.  We are excited to expand upon these accomplishments with state of the art equipment, classrooms, a third academic wing, and a performing arts auditorium.  Our community is proud and supportive of its schools.

There are over 130 staff members who are excited to ENGAGE students in their educational journey.  Our teachers collaboratively learn and work in professional learning communities to continuously respond to the academic and behavioral needs of our 1500+ students.  Our well-trained paraprofessionals, dedicated cooks, hard-working custodians, and experienced administrative support team are also eager to support you at Rogers High School.

Our staff is committed to making RHS a safe, caring, respectful, and positive learning environment where students can be successful.  We are committed to continuing RHS’s tradition of excellence!  We embrace the ongoing support and involvement of our parent and community stakeholders and it is through these relationships that we can learn, teach, and appreciate one another.

Welcome to the 16-17 school year! We look forward to an exciting year for our students, staff, and community. As we embark on our 14th year we are as energized and committed to excellence in education, athletics, and activities, as we were our first year. Our commitments continue to be rooted in our beliefs in developing relationships, shaping futures, pursuing excellence, and seeking diversity.

I started my career in education 28 years ago at Vandenberg Middle School as an English teacher. During my first few years of teaching, I also finished a Master’s degree at Hamline University. Soon after, an opportunity presented itself to work as an educational consultant. I am passionate about professional development and this new role allowed me to work alongside other teachers wanting to improve their instructional strategies. Though I enjoyed the challenge of this new adventure, I quickly became aware that I missed the students. After a year, I returned to the district and helped open Rogers Middle School. Once again I was back in my element and focused on being the best teacher I could be. For years, my classroom faced a vast expanse of farmland. Knowing how committed this community was to having a high school, it was a welcomed sight when the construction crew broke ground on Rogers High School. It was also a welcomed chance that the freshmen were going to be moving to Rogers High School and I was going to be able to move right along with them. During my first year as a Royal, I went back to Hamline University and completed a licensure program in Administration. I slid into the role of an Assistant Principal a few years back and now have the perfect balance of working with both teachers and students as we all learn and grow together each day.

As we start this year, my window again faces an expanse of dirt mounds and construction equipment that will soon result in a state of the art auditorium and third academic wing. The adventure continues and I am so humbled to be a part of the dream we have for the students, staff, and community we serve.
