Class of 2020 Graduation

  •

Rogers High School looks forward to celebrating the Class of 2020 with a series of events planned to celebrate our seniors. With the guidance provided by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Education, we feel that we can safely celebrate our graduates, their achievements with a modified commencement ceremony.

RHS will host a Graduation Car Parade on June 4th, 2020. This is a voluntary opportunity for each graduate to cross the stage, receive their diploma, and have their photo taken by a professional photographer along with receiving your senior swag bag.

Details and expectations are provided on page two of this letter.  Page three has a map for more clarity on how traffic will flow.  It is expected that everyone follows these guidelines, so we are able to celebrate all students, without having to shut down due to a few that do not follow the expectations from MDH.  We need to work together to make this event happen, rain or shine.

Later, a “virtual” commencement ceremony, featuring the traditional statements from students and school leaders, as well as the annual presentation of the Class of 2020, will be streamed and include the reading of each graduate’s name and images of them cross the stage.

In addition, the Class of 2020 will be invited to an event in the fall to be recognized and to gather with classmates when it is deemed safe by MDH and other state leaders. This would likely take place around our school’s Homecoming festivities.

We are so proud of the senior class and are excited to celebrate with you on June 4th.  I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as your principal.  Wishing you and your families peace, health, and happiness.  #RHSclassof2020.  It’s a great day to be a ROYAL!

    Sincerely,

    Jason Paurus
    Principal
