  • PAC Walk-a-Thon!

    Kids in Front of Fire Truck Thank you for supporting the ZES/WES Walk A Thon! Both schools raised over $36,000.00. Because our PAC committee organizes and runs the Walk A Thon internally, all of the funds raised stay in the Zimmerman Elementary schools.


    Title 1 Night

    Families attended the Zimmerman Elementary Title 1 night. Supper was served and families had the opportunity to move from various stations, learning what a it meant to be a good reader. The students at Zimmerman Elementary starred in their own video!

    Fall Festival Parade

    Fall Festival Logo ZES will be holding the annual Fall Parade on the October 31st at 2:00 PM

    Parents/Guardians are welcome to attend! Weather permitting, we will walk down to Pine Cone Manor. If the weather is poor, the parade will be inside of the school.

    Per the District guidelines, costumes are to be safe and respectful of all individuals and groups. No weapons of any kind, blood, guts, gore or face masks of any kind are permitted. More information will be coming from your child’s classroom teacher.

    Veterans Day Ceremony

    The staff and students at Zimmerman Elementary School will be holding a Veteran’s Day ceremony on Friday, November 9. The students have been practicing patriotic songs which will be performed during our ceremony. The Zimmerman American Legion Color Guard will be in attendance, along with the Pack 91, Zimmerman Cub Scouts from our school.

    As part of our celebration, we would like to honor and recognize family members of Zimmerman Elementary students who have either served, or are currently serving, in the military.  Prior to our event, we will be videotaping individual students as they thank their family member(s) for their service. The video will be shown during our Veteran’s Day ceremony.

    Unity Day

    Unity Day Wall Students and staff at Zimmerman Elementary had the option to wear orange on Wednesday to support Unity Day. Various resources and discussions were held in classrooms. All students and staff write a Unity Brick, to be placed in the lunchroom - take  look the next time you are at ZES.

    Safe Routes To School

    During the 2018-2019 school year, staff and students at ISD 728 schools in Zimmerman including  Zimmerman Elementary will be working with MnDOT (Minnesota Department of Transportation) and area partners on Safe Routes to School plans. The goal of the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program is to increase the number of students who walk and bike to school.

    We need your input to learn more about how you feel about your children walking and biking to school. Please see the following link that will direct you to a five minute survey to complete. The survey will stay open until November 12th, 2018.

    The Magic of Being Kind

    Magic of Being Kind Show Magician Curtis Head performed his magic show, The Magic of Being Kind for all students at Zimmerman Elementary School. His message was simple - we all need to work to be kind!


    Fall Conferences

    Please watch for Conference Information, shared on Nov 1 via an e-blast and by your child’s classroom teacher. Conferences will be held on November 19 and 20th.

    Picture Re-takes

    Lifetouch will be at ZES on Wednesday, November 7th for picture re-takes.

    No School

    There will not be school on Nov. 12 and the 19th through the 23rd.

  • ZES Is Going Checkless

    Beginning with the 18-19 school year, Zimmerman Elementary will be going checkless. This means that all assigned school fees, meal accounts, and other sale items such as T-shirts will be accepted with cash or credit/debit card only.   • Illnesses and Communicable Diseases

    Is my child well enough to go to school?  Many students and parents are frequently concerned about when students should stay home or attend school.  You can expect your child to be ill 5-7 days during a school year. Remember that a child ill with an infectious disease can spread the disease when in contact with others in the family and the community.

    Health Services will monitor the number of communicable diseases reported to them and notify parents via school newsletter or Campus Messenger, if a high percentage (>10 %) of children in a classroom or grade level have a particular communicable disease (ex. Strep throat, head lice, etc.).

    Every year during conferences we do a teacher appreciation dinner. This fall we are going to do Dinner, Desserts and a Drawing. The menu is soups, salads, breads and desserts.   • Student Drop Off

    Students may be dropped off at Zimmerman Elementary beginning at 8:25 am each school morning. Please do not drop your child off before 8:25 a.m. as there is no student supervision. Thank you.
