Kinder Camp will be held on May 2nd and 3rd in the morning from 9:30am-11:30am.  All children starting school next fall are invited to attend Twin Lakes Kinder Camp.  Please register your student prior to the event.  We look forward to them coming to spend the morning with our Kindergarten teachers and staff.

MCA Testing begins this week (see below for dates).  During this time to ensure your child has a successful testing experience please make sure your child receives adequate sleep each night and they eat a healthy breakfast each morning.  Please avoid absences and appointments during the testing window.  Thank you for your support in making this a successful time for our students.

    Updates from the Health Office

Illnesses are prevalent in our schools during this time of year.  Our Health Services are structured to keep students in school as much as possible so they can meet their educational goals.  However, there are times when students need to stay home to get well and prevent exposure and the spread of illness to others.

Please report all illnesses of health conditions to Health Services.  When parents are called about a child who has become ill during the school day, it is the expectation that they will be picked up within one hour.

Refer to the following information to guide decision making regarding exclusion of ill children.

    Borrowed  Clothing

Kids from all grade levels during the school year come to the Health Office for a change of clothing.  This is due to various reasons such as falling in mud, bathroom accidents, spilled milk or food in the cafeteria, & nosebleeds.  We know parents are sometimes tied up and can't make it so we loan out clothes when possible.  We ask that the borrowed clothes are washed and returned to the Health Office so we can continue to help your children through out the school year.
In order for us to help other children, please return any borrowed clothing to the Health Office

    Snow Make Up Days

Due to the Snow Days, our school year has been extended to Monday, June 10th

    5th Grade Band Exploration Night April 8, 9 & 10

For 5th grade students who selected Band as their Music Elective next year are invited to attend Band Exploration Night at Salk Middle School.  If you have questions about the registration process, please contact the Salk Middle School Counseling Office.  If you have questions about the Band Program at Salk, please contact Mrs. Wondra.

The ISD 728 School Board approved the proposed 2019-2020 Calendar at its regular business meeting Monday, March 11 with a few changes in store for district families.  Students can look forward to a somewhat earlier release date in 2020, as the district ends the year on June 4, one of the earliest dates in recent history.  Additionally, more than two weeks off for Winter Break, from Saturday, Dec. 21, 2019 through Jan. 6, 2020, will be on tap for students next year, as proposed by the ISD 728 Calendar Committee.

Dear Pat Suko & Twin Lakes Elementary:

On behalf of the American Heart Association and the millions of Americans we serve, thank you very much for your school's donation of $3,639.00.  Families and schools are critical links in providing the foundation for cardiovascular wellness in our country.  By holding this event at your school each year, you raise awareness about heart-healthy living.  And you help us fund more lifesaving scientific research and critically needed education efforts.Thank you.

Almost every family in America is touched by heart disease or stroke, and your school's contribution will significantly impact our fight against these devastating illnesses.

We hope that you, your faculty and your students found this lifesaving effort rewarding and enjoyable.  You are touching so many lives - and life is why we exist as an organization.  Your help and support are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to partnering again with you next year!

    Warm regards,
    Nancy Brown
