We're Off to a Great Start!
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! We opened up the school doors on September 3rd to nearly 800 new and returning students! Due to Prairie View Middle School adding 8th grade programming this year, RMS enrollment is down by approximately 100 students from the close of the 2018-19 school year; this year completes the three year transition phase associated with boundary changes.
The first week went extremely well, as students quickly adjusted to being back to school. We hope that the first days back to school are going smoothly for your family. Transitioning to the "back to school” routine can take some adjusting. Similar to routines at school, home routines are key to the success of students. For example, having a designated study time and space for homework completion is a great routine to establish early in the school year.
We encourage checking in with your children frequently and asking them about school. We also encourage communication with your child’s teachers. RMS is committed to partnering in your child’s education and open communication is a critical component to fostering academic success.
Finally, we want to make sure to highlight our annual Math Night, scheduled for Monday, September 23rd from 6-7pm in the RMS cafetorium. Math Night is a great chance for parents to meet our team of math teachers and learn more about our math courses. Mark your calendars now!

Relentless Pursuit of Continuous Improvement!
All Parents and Guardians are invited to join us for Math Night from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, September 23. Math Night is full of great information on all things related to math classes at RMS. Some of the information covered includes:
- Math Class/Level Placement criteria
- Progression of math classes and curriculum through middle and high school
- A chance to meet the RMS math team
- How to get help for your student, if needed
We hope to see you there!
(If you are unable to attend, the power point presentation from Math Night will be posted to the RMS website by September 30.)
Box Tops Goes Digital!
The Box Tops for Education program is changing the way we can earn cash for our school!
Over the summer, participating brands have begun to change their packaging from the traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops label.
Going forward, instead of clipping from packages and checking expiration dates, all Box Tops will be earned digitally by scanning your receipt. The Box Tops for Education team has worked hard to build a NEW-and-improved, user-friendly Box Tops mobile app, available now.
The new app features state-of-the-art technology that allows you to scan your store receipt, find participating products and instantly add Box Tops to our school's earnings online.
If you still have traditional Box Tops clips at home, make sure to send them to school. We will still earn cash for all clipped Box Tops until they expire. Better yet, you can “double dip” during the packaging transition by clipping traditional Box Tops AND scanning your store receipt containing participating products.
Thanks for helping our school get what it needs!
BE SURE TO DOWNLOAD THE NEW APP OR UPDATE YOUR EXISTING APP: LEARN MORE ABOUT THESE CHANGES AT BTFE.COM
