In Pursuit of Continuous Improvement
We have had a very smooth transition into the 2019-20 school year! Hopefully, you and your family have adjusted well to the back to school routine. Chromebooks have been distributed for their third year of use and are being used daily to enhance your student’s learning. It’s truly amazing to see all of the ways teachers and students are utilizing these tools for learning. Thanks again, voters, for your support in making this technology possible. Finally, thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education.
Congratulations to the RMS students, staff and parents for your success on the 2018-19 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments (MCA); it takes both hard work on the part of teachers and students, as well as strong support on the part of parents to achieve great results. Once again, RMS students scored far above the state averages in Math, Reading and Science. For details of the results, check out the charts in this edition of the Messenger (Source: MDE). Thank you for your part in helping us move forward in our relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.
We all have an important role and embody a shared sense of responsibility in your student’s school success. As always, please keep open the lines of communication between home and school. Feel free to contact us with questions or concerns. We value our partnership in your child’s education.

Media Center Off To A Busy Start
Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades have been busy in the Media Center this first month of school. Classes started the year with Media Center orientation games and their first book checkout of the year. Sixth graders have been in several times for lessons about genre and to play Breakout EDU games for English class. The MakerSpace is in full swing with students able to try activities over the lunch hours and during Study Halls.
Interested in supporting the Media Center this school year? Make a donation on RevTrak! This year the Media Center is in need of donations to update and add to its Book Club collection. The collection serves students in Book Club and is also used by English classes for literature circles in late spring after Book Club has ended.
Mark your calendars! The Fall Scholastic Bookfair will take place October 21st-24th. Make sure to check out the pirate theme “Books Are Our Treasure” fair!
