Lincoln Letter

Hi there, Lincoln Families! As we get settled into the school year I wanted to take a moment to share the importance of maintaining consistent school attendance.

    What is Consistent Attendance?
Per Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), a student will be considered to be consistently attending school if they attend more than 90% of school days. This means that a child would not miss more than 15 school days for the entire school year.

    Why Does Consistent Attendance Matter?
Students who attend school consistently are more likely to achieve academically, graduate high school and succeed in their careers, college experience, or both after high school. The Minnesota Department of Education is increasing its attention to consistent attendance as an important indicator of student engagement and school climate, as well as a significant predictor of academic success.

Our goal is to ensure your child is able to attend 90 percent or more of our total school days for the year.  Please feel free to contact us at 763-241-3480 to help support you or your child in any way.   We look forward to partnering with you to make this happen!

On Monday, September 9th, Lincoln Elementary and Meadowvale Elementary received some guests from Njombe, Tanzania. They came to thank the staff and students for their contributions to One Week One Well. These two schools earned the honor of having deep wells named after their schools after collecting more money than any other school or organization; Lincoln in 2013 and Meadowvale in 2014. The Tanzanian delegation reported on the great impact that the wells are having on the schools and villages and shared their deep gratitude. Seth Mlelwa said, “I could cry for the joy that is in my heart.” Students were also told, “Mostly I would like to say thank you, kids for your heart that has helped us to give water to other kids who you can not see, but you can see through your support. You are connected to the people there.”
