Set up the environment to allow for student success. Take a picture of the room and explain how it allows for student comfort and best academic performance. Chair/table placement, door, window, teacher chair. Reduce distractions. Basket of fidgets for some, “prize” i.e. candy/pencil
Schedule of our testing time, list of breaks
Developing rapport: icebreaker questions/topics to get to know the student. List of questions on a poster or card.
Explaining to student/parent: purpose of testing, my role, and possible outcomes. Have a card/script to use to explain.
Info from teacher: Getting a list of the best possible times and days to test the student. (form, email)
Contact log to show the number of times conversed with teacher or parents.
Survey: smiley face/ number/ etc... for the student to complete after testing. Rate “Did you feel comfortable during testing” “Did you do your best” “Do you understand why you are testing”
Identify student strengths and weaknesses to assist in developing IEPs to assist in service implementation.

Communication of evaluation findings. Clear and understandably written for parents. (no jargon, acronyms are defined) Parent friendly manner.
