Breaks, Holidays Outlined in Preliminary Review of 2025-2026 Calendar

The ISD 728 School District Calendar for the 2025-2026 School Year was presented to the ISD 728 School Board for discussion and consideration on March 10, 2025. The School Board is expected to take action on the recommendation later this month as the calendar is typically approved before April 1, 2024.
Preliminary dates for the start of school, season breaks and other holidays have been proposed. These dates (other than Federal holidays) have not been formally approved by the Board, as stated previously. Tentative dates include:
- September 2, 2025 - First day of school
- October 16-17, 2025 - Teacher Convention (MEA) - No school
- November 27-28, 2025 - Fall Break - No school
- December 22, 2025 through January 2, 2026 - Winter Break (two full weeks)
- January 19, 2026 - MLK Jr. Day - No school
- February 16, 2026 - Presidents’ Day - No school
- March 30 through April 3, 2026 - Spring Break (teacher workshop on March 30)
- May 25, 2025 - Memorial Day - No school
- June 4, 2026 - Last day of school
Other dates such as the final day of school for Grade 12 students and grad week are still being discussed.
Again, these dates are tentative and subject to change. Families should plan accordingly.
