Eight Honored as 2023-2024 ISD 728 Annual Award Winners

Eight Honored as 2023-2024 ISD 728 Annual Award Winners

Each year, ISD 728 Celebrates its staff, volunteers and substitute teachers with the annual Staff Awards. This year, the District committee that celebrates these outstanding members of the ISD 728 family added a new category - Coach of the Year, bringing our total category number to seven.

This year, however, as in past years, Staff Member of the Year was a split vote, with an honor going to one Staff Member who serves the entire District, while another member who serves just one building was also honored for her service to VandenBerge Middle School.

That brings the total to eight for 2023-2024. They are:

Elementary Teacher of the Year: Erinn Weinmann, Parker Elementary
Staff Member of the Year (Bldg): Tracy Ratike, VandenBerge Middle School
Staff Member of the Year (District): Gwen Anderson, EL Coordinator
Coach of the Year: Randy Ronning, ERHS Tennis
Volunteer of the Year: Brena Tonn, Rogers High
Substitute Teacher of the Year: Morgan Poole, Lincoln Elementary
Secondary Teacher of the Year: Leif Voltz, Prairie View Middle School
Early Ed Teacher of the Year: Sena DeLeon - Handke (Early Special Education )

"We have more than 2,700 staff members and teachers in our District, and you are among the best of the best," said Dr. Dan Bittman, superintendent. "You know that I'm not on the committee who gets to select you, but I get to honor you. And that's one of the highlights of my year. It's truly special to be able to recognize these amazing people."
