School Board Election Information
General School Board Election: November 5, 2024
Three members of the School Board will be elected for terms of four years each. All are at-large seats. The filing period begins on July 30, 2024, and closes on August 13, 2024, at 5 p.m. Other important filing information is included in the Notice of Filing as linked below.

Elk River Chamber of Commerce School Board Forum
The Elk River Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate forum in September, featuring the six candidates for ISD 728 School Board.
Residents will vote on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024 to shape the new Board, with the six candidates running for three positions. The slate includes current board member Joel Nelson, former board chair Shane Steinbrecher, as well as newcomers Dr. Leah Colby, Mike Nordos, Shari Knipp and Monica Madsen.

Affidavit of Candidacy
Below is the link to the Affidavit of Candidacy that must be completed, notarized, and submitted, along with a $2 filing fee, to the School District Clerk at the School District Office, 11500 193rd Avenue NW, Elk River, MN, between July 30, 2024 and August 13, 2024, at 5 p.m., the close of the filing period.
