About ISD 728
Welcome to ISD 728, Independent School District 728, the eighth largest school district in Minnesota. We are a progressive district located 35 miles northwest of Minneapolis. We proudly serve nearly 13,000 neighborhood students and more than 50,000 total lifelong learners in all or parts of Albertville, Dayton, Elk River, Otsego, Ramsey, Rogers, St. Michael, Zimmerman and the townships of Big Lake, Baldwin, Burns, Livonia, Nowthen, Orrock and Stanford.
We have 10 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 4 high schools. We also offer Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) magnet programs at Rogers Elementary School and Salk Middle School. Our Community Education program serves pre-schoolers to senior citizens.
Our curriculum is designed to enhance each student's intellectual, physical, emotional and artistic dimensions. Our assessments continue to climb, and we meet or exceed most state and national results.
In 2012, our seven-member elected School Board approved a new "One Mission, Seven Core Values, ALL Learner's" Strategic Plan. This plan, created with the support of volunteers throughout our communities, provides the priorities of our school district through 2017. The foundation of our Strategic Plan are our Seven Core Values.
Our students have earned millions of dollars in scholarships and moved on to great accomplishments. Our teachers are consistently among the state's best, including several finalists for Minnesota Teacher of the Year. Outside the classroom, many students participate in extracurricular activities such as athletics and the arts, and often bring home state and national awards.
Everything we do is aligned with our mission: to educate, inspire & empower our diverse learners, to shape their futures, to accomplish their dreams and to contribute positively to our local and global communities.
