Throughout my time teaching, I’ve had the honor working with students from Pre-K all the way through 12th grade.

Hobbies: Art making is my favorite hobby (no surprise)! I love working with a variety of art mediums, but I especially love colored pencils, watercolor, and ink. Another passion of mine is spending time outdoors hiking, biking, and kayaking. I also enjoy exploring the North Shore with family and friends.

This is my 6th year of teaching! It is my 3rd year teaching for the Elk River Schools. Before I was in this district, I taught K-4 general music and 5th grade band for one year within the Shakopee District. Before that, I substitute taught for two years and worked at a private lesson studio teaching piano, guitar, and band instrument lessons. I have loved my time within Elk River and hope to stay here for the long haul! I currently live with my husband Michael and our two dogs Beckett (Golden Retriever) and Jagger (Puggle) in the Maple Grove area.

Hobbies/Fun Facts?: I am originally from Iowa. I moved up here for student teaching. I loved it so much I stayed! I really enjoy biking or walking my dogs when the weather is nice. I always knew I wanted to teach! I had trouble deciding between teaching French, English, or Music.

Elementary Music

I am a wife to a wonderful husband and a mom to three great kids (Graham, Audrey and Jude). I live in Elk River, which is also where I graduated from. I love music and I love to sing. I currently sing every weekend at my church and love to worship. I enjoy spending time outside at the lake and soaking up the sun.  I also enjoy hiking, especially in the Colorado Rockies. Reading is also a hobby of mine, but not one that I can do often, having three kids.

I have been a music teacher in the district for nine years and have worked at six different schools. I also work at my church, where I teach adult choir and lead a kid and youth band. Music is my thing and I love to teach, but I am also passionate about building relationships and mentoring kids and youth.
