Parking Permits: Due to software updates in Parent Portal (Campus), for the start of the 2020-21 school year, students will only be required to complete the online permit application using this Google Form. The revised fee of $45.00 will be assigned in October after the software updates are complete.Construction Update We are thrilled to announce that construction will begin outside in October here on the campus of RHS on our new entrance into the activity complex, gym addition, weightroom, and locker room enhancements. We will see reduced and no access to our G wing during the 2020-21 school year. Yes, this will cause a major disruption to our "G" house classrooms, phy ed locker rooms, and athletic locker rooms but in order for this project to be completed by the start of the 2021-22 school year, we will be creative and figure out how to make this happen.
Please know that we will have access to the fieldhouse during construction. With construction, timelines may change and we may have to adjust. It is extremely important to us that the safety and security of our students and staff come first. You will notice fenced off areas that will create a new way for traffic to flow. Also, the north student parking lot by the stadium will be used by construction workers.
If you have additional questions pertaining to the operations and educational delivery for the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, please use this Parent Question Form and we will respond accordingly.
Thank you for sending your child to RHS as this year will be an unforgettable year. It’s a great day to be a ROYAL!
See you soon. Be well!

RHS Distance and Hybrid Learning Helpful Tips
Greetings Parents and Students,
Attached you will find some helpful tips to guide you during your school day either face to face here in the building or when you are at home distance learning. This school year should and will feel more rigorous than last spring when we were fully distant learning. We are all in this together and are here to support every student to be successful in every model. Please reach out to a specific teacher, appropriate grade level counselor or appropriate administrator with questions.
Thank you,
RHS Admn

RHS Conference Update
Greetings RHS families,
Our conferences that were scheduled for October 22nd will be conducted in a different format than we have traditionally used. What that means is that conferences will NOT be held in our field house where teachers sit at tables and parents walk around. Second, the focus will be primarily on students most in need of a check in via telephone or Google Meet.
Teachers will be reaching out over the week of October 19th-23rd to the parents of students who are struggling academically, socially/emotionally and students who are less engaged in school so far this year.
- If your student is passing all of their classes, not struggling, or teachers do not have any concerns you may not hear from your students’ teachers.
- Always feel free to reach out and connect with a specific teacher if you have any questions or concerns about your student.
- If your child is struggling in multiple classes, a counselor and/or administrator will be reaching out to you to set up a conference.
- Teachers, administration or counselors will contact you via phone, email or set up a Google Meet if they have concerns.
Please review our Virtual College Fair and consider visiting LIVE from 4:30pm-6:30pm on October 22nd with colleges that are of interest to you. Google Meet links are embedded in the slides on the presentation, along with the times that a college representative will be available to share their college’s features with you.
Thank you,
RHS Admin
- If your student is passing all of their classes, not struggling, or teachers do not have any concerns you may not hear from your students’ teachers.

RHS 100% Distance Learning Model and Parent Teacher Conferences
Greetings Students and Families,
We hope this email finds you well. This communication will give you a broad overview of the expectations for our transition to the 100% distance learning model and also information regarding our parent teacher conferences on November 23rd.
The feedback that we have received from students, staff and families since last spring has helped shape our distance learning plan. Our RHS Student/Family Distance Learning Plan will provide you with many of the details regarding the transition to the distance learning model. Please take some time looking through this document so that you know what your student’s day will look like in the distance learning model here at RHS. As we go through this we will continue to monitor and adjust based on the effectiveness of this model in order to best support student learning. If after reviewing this document, you have additional questions, please use this Parent Question Form and we will respond accordingly.
As we are all discovering each day, there are many variables in our work and home lives that are out of our control. We recognize the many emotions and turmoil that you may be feeling; we are feeling it too. With the transition to distance learning our focus is on what we can control and prepare for as we make a successful shift to distance learning while providing students with structure, clear expectations, consistency, and staff availability for support. While we understand that there is no one format that will meet the preferences of every family or individual, we feel that we have systems and structures in place to help our students, staff and families be successful in this model.
While it has been a very unique school year in so many ways, we will stay committed to building positive relationships, pursuing excellence, seeking diversity and building futures. Please reach out to a specific teacher, appropriate grade level counselor or appropriate administrator with questions. It’s a great day to be a ROYAL!
Sincerely,
