Update: Personalized Communication Coming for 2026 Seniors

Members of the Class of 2026 will soon get a communication from the Direct Admissions Minnesota program. This email, to be sent October 21, 2025, will contain a survey link for students and instructions on how to apply for college admissions to eligible schools for each senior student.

Members of the Class of 2026 who are on track to graduate will soon get a communication from the Direct Admissions Minnesota program. This email, to be sent October 21, 2025, will contain a survey link for students and instructions on how to apply for college admissions to eligible schools for each senior student.

Here are the steps to follow:

  • Check your school email: Look for your personalized survey link and your list of eligible colleges.
  • Explore your options: Use the links in your email to visit each college’s website and learn more about what they offer.
  • Complete your survey: Select the colleges you’re interested in being directly admitted to after you graduate. Once you complete the survey, those colleges will be notified and will reach out with next steps.
  • Follow each college’s process: Even though you’ve been directly admitted, you still need to complete each college’s application process and meet their deadlines to secure your spot. Some colleges may also request additional materials.

More information can be found on the Office of Higher Education website.

All ISD 728 High Schools will be participating in a new program called Direct Admissions Minnesota. Direct Admissions Minnesota is designed to offer high school seniors a streamlined admissions process at 55 postsecondary institutions in Minnesota.

What can students expect:

  • Participating seniors will receive a personalized Direct Admissions letter that will list the names of each participating college and university offering admission for fall 2026.
  • As part of Direct Admissions, all application fees for these colleges are waived, so it's FREE to apply to any on your list!
  • After receiving their letter, seniors will confirm their college selections and submit their digital letter back to the high school, answer the questions in the application portal, and receive their official acceptance letters. (some colleges may request additional application information via email).

Parents will be sent a communication on September 18 regarding the Direct Admissions Minnesota program.  This communication will include information regarding the Direct Admissions Minnesota process as well as the opportunity to opt their child out of this program.
