Food Service

School meals are critical to student learning and student health. A well nourished child is able to focus, concentrate, and learn. District food service employees strive to prepare healthy and delicious school meals that meet or exceed USDA standards. 

ISD 728 is proud to partner with Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE) to provide nutritious breakfast and lunch meals each day. We invite you to learn more about our menus, wellness opportunities and more.

During the 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session, lawmakers signed into law the Free School Meals Program for students. All students are eligible for one reimbursable breakfast and one reimbursable lunch per school day free of charge. A complete breakfast is available to students every day in the school cafeteria. Even with this change our school district is still required to keep track of meals served to each individual child and families that qualify for benefits.
