Application for Educational Benefits

REMINDER: You must apply every year!

Our school provides healthy meals each day. During the 2023 Minnesota Legislative Session, lawmakers signed into law the Free School Meals Program for students. 

All students are eligible for one reimbursable breakfast and one reimbursable lunch per school day free of charge. A complete breakfast is available to students every day in the school cafeteria. 

ISD 728 will continue to collect the Application for Educational Benefits to determine if students qualify for free or reduced-price meals.

  • You can apply anytime, but it does not carry over from the previous year
  • Students qualifying for benefits increases federal and state funding to support learning experiences for students.
  • Qualifying for benefits also helps your family reduce fees in other areas of your child’s school experience.
  • Once approved, you will receive an email stating you have been approved with instructions on how to access your benefits and a copy of the letter.  The benefits may also be optionaly applied in Infinite Campus to products and fees that qualify for a discount, using instructions below.

  1. Go to the Main Menu
  2. Click More
  3. Click Meal Benefits

Sharing Educational Benefits Status

After you receive an email stating you have been approved, you may give your permission for us to share your child(ren)'s name and meal eligibility status with staff in charge of School Store and Activity Registration Fees in order to adjust pricing. This replaces the need to share a copy of the Approval Letter to the school office used in previous school years, and is the only way to receive qualifying waivers and discounts starting July 2026.

Once you've signed into your Campus Parent Portal, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Main Menu
  2. Click Message Center
  3. Click Surveys
  4. Click Consent to Share Educational Benefits option
  5. Choose Yes, the Complete.

Qualifying waivers or discounts will be automatically applied when completing Campus School Store purchases or Fee payments.
