Public Employees Retirement Association of Minnesota (PERA)

As a public employee, you are already contributing to your financial future!

PERA is a statewide pension program that offers benefits to public employees. Membership in PERA is automatic for non-elected public employees that meet minimum salary and position eligibility requirements set by Minnesota statute. You currently contribute 6.5 percent of your gross salary and ISD 728 contributes 7.5 percent of that same salary.

Teachers Retirement Association (TRA)

TRA is a Minnesota statewide public pension fund that provides retirement, disability and death benefits to Minnesota public school teachers, administrators, college faculty, retirees, their families and beneficiaries. You and ISD 728 both contribute to TRA, currently set at 7.5 percent of your gross earnings. TRA calculates your pension based on three key factors: retirement age, years of service and top 5 earning years.
