Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, ISD 728 students in grades K-10 who live within the District boundary AND are currently enrolled in their school of residence will automatically be routed to and from school based on their primary address as listed in Campus Parent Portal.

Students in grades 11 & 12 MUST request transportation in order to be assigned a bus. 

Families new to ISD 728 and kindergarten students who are eligible for transportation will automatically be assigned a bus for the upcoming school year based on their resident school and primary address as listed in Campus Parent Portal.

Special Services Transportation: If your student qualifies for special transportation based on your student’s IEP, you will be contacted separately by your school team (Due Process Assistant) for additional information required for transportation.

Preliminary bus information will be available in early August 2025. Final bus information will be available ten (10) days prior to the first day of school.

Families who complete enrollment the last two weeks of August and after the school year begins should expect to be assigned a bus in 7-10 school days. Families will be notified when transportation is ready to begin.

To complete a request, the parent/guardian should

2. Select 'Message Center' (left-hand menu)
3. Select 'Surveys' (main menu)
4. Complete 2025-2026 Transportation Survey (complete one form per student) 

Students who are open-enrolled into non-magnet programs, but attending an ISD 728 school, must complete a transportation request to be assigned to bus routes.

Bus stop locations are determined by space available on district buses, not necessarily by the distance to your home, and will be located within the school boundary of attendance, is available. Families will be required to transport the student to and from the bus stop location as not all locations will be within walking distance.

Students who live outside of the ISD 728 District boundary and within the approved Northwest Suburban Integration School Districts (NWSISD), will be assigned to busing based on information that was collected during the registration process. 

Please contact your school if your address changes or you have not requested busing for the school year.

If you currently have transportation, or requested to ride during registration, and no longer intend to ride the bus, please email transportation@nws.k12.mn.us to decline your transportation.  NWSISD’s transportation guidelines can be found at https://www.nws.k12.mn.us/transportation.html

Families will receive an email and postcard with final bus information 1 week prior to the first day of school.
