2026-2027 School Year Transportation

NOTE: If you need to make a change to your student's transportation for the current 2025-2026 school year, please contact the Transportation Department at 763-274-7238 or by email to helpdesk.transportation@isd728.org for more information.

ISD 728 Transportation utilizes an opt-out request system. Rather than collecting a transportation request from each student, all eligible ISD 728 enrolled students in grades K-10 who live within the District boundary AND attend their school of residence, will automatically be assigned to a District transportation based on their primary household as listed in Campus Parent Portal.

If your student falls under one of the criteria listed below, you MUST submit a transportation request through the online process in Campus Parent Portal by June 30, 2026.

  • Student is in 11th or 12th grade and needs transportation to and from school.
  • Student needs different transportation (not just to and from their primary address such as daycare, split schedule, etc.)
  • Student is a magnet student living within ISD 728 district boundaries - but not within the Salk Middle School or Rogers Elementary school boundary and needs transportation.+ (+Magnet students that live outside of the ISD 728 district boundaries should contact their school to ensure they are registered to ride on NWSISD transportation.)
  • Student is open enrolled in ISD 728 and needs a bus stop location assigned*
(*For open enrolled students - bus stop locations are determined by space available on district buses - they are not determined by distance to your home and parent/guardian must transport student to and from bus stop location. Stop locations may not be withing walking distance).
  • Student does NOT need morning transportation or afternoon transportation, remove from ALL bus routes.

Each eligible student will be assigned to one morning (to school) and one afternoon (from school) stop. Stops must be consistent all 5 days of the week.

Families will continue to be given the option to request an alternative stop location, such as daycare, providing it results in one consistent morning and afternoon bus assignment per student and meets transportation guidelines

With a clearer understanding of how many students will require transportation, we can ensure that we have the proper number of buses, staff, and safety measures in place at the beginning of the school year.
