The Minnesota Association of School Administrators will make a special presentation to the ISD 728 School Board at its regular meeting, set for Monday, July 18, 2022 at the District Office in Elk River. 

MASA Executive Director Deb Henton will present a check for $1,000 to the District in honor of Superintendent Dr. Dan Bittman, to be presented to a graduate at the end of the 2022-2023 school year. 

Bittman served as the President of MASA for the 2021-2022 school year, guiding the organization through the “second phase” of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a host of other issues that presented themselves to Districts around Minnesota and, truly, the country. 

“He was an exemplary president,” Henton said. “Truly, whatever experiences came our way he showed outstanding leadership in challenging times. He listened. He advocated for schools and school administrators. And he supported all our members in an outstanding way.” 

Bittman will continue to serve the organization as Past President through the 2022-2023 school year.
