Hassan, Otsego, and Prairie View to remain Face-to-Face for Now
On September 10, 2020, the Minnesota Department of Health recommended all schools within Wright County consider moving to a hybrid model due to an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. They also noted that the number of COVID-19 cases changes daily and can be unpredictable throughout Minnesota.
After much discussion and review of our local data with both Wright County and the Minnesota Department of Health this week, I am glad to report we are able to continue offering a face-to-face model at all three schools (Hassan, Otsego, and Prairie View). The number of COVID-19 cases within Wright County has decreased, and there have been no confirmed cases at Hassan, Otsego, or Prairie View elementary schools.
The District would not transition from a face-to-face model to hybrid model without three weeks of increased COVID-19 rates above the State’s recommended threshold, specific cases within a particular school that would warrant a change, or unique circumstances such as limited staff.
There have been confirmed cases within ISD 728 and in our communities so it is important to remain vigilant. Individuals who have been in close contact with those who have tested positive for COVID-19 and/or who are at schools with confirmed cases have been notified in accordance with Minnesota Department of Health guidelines. We encourage our families to continue to follow state and local guidelines and set the example for our students in our ISD 728 communities as we strive to keep them in our classrooms this school year.
