Minnesota State High School League Spring Activities Cancelled for Remainder of 2019-2020 Season

Thursday, April 23, 2020, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and the Minnesota State High School League announced the cancellation of all of Minnesota high school activities through the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

The state’s announcement is intended to give parents, coaches and student athletes as much certainty as possible so they could plan and make decisions for the future. While this is not the outcome any of us hope for, we are thankful for the information and continued partnerships with our state leaders and high school league.

Health and safety remain our number one priority, and we are working closely with public health officials to make the best decisions for our children, families, and school community. Information regarding activity fees and refunds will be forthcoming.

For our senior athletes, we echo the Governor’s comments, knowing this is a time when many are excited for the pinnacle of their athletic careers, only to see it taken away by the pandemic. We appreciate their dedication, and the way they have represented ISD 728 throughout their journey.

Please continue to access the District’s Website at for the most up-to-date information about summer activities and the 2020-2021 school year. Questions related to site specific activities can be directed to your student athlete’s Activities Director or Coach. Contact information is available on the District’s Website.

Thank you for being part of ISD 728. I am proud to serve as your Superintendent, and I am confident we will be stronger for having this opportunity together.
