ISD 728 School Board Honors Leadership Students from Zimmerman

The ISD 728 School Board continued its new tradition of honoring exemplary students at the Feb. 10, 2020 regular board meeting.

Here are the Zimmerman community students recognized for their excellence in leadership and academic excellence.

Zimmerman Elementary School

Reed Hermanson

Reed is such a leader and a wonderful role model to all of his peers. He is a great helper to everyone around him and he is a sponge for learning. He is excited about school and being with his friends but takes his academics seriously. He strives to excel in everything he does and he exudes joy and confidence wherever he goes!

Grayson Zahler

Grayson is a quiet young man who always puts 100% effort into his work.  He does his job without the expectation of some kind of reward other than his own pride in doing his best.  Always a kind word towards his classmates and a helpful hand when needed without being asked.  When he was sick and falling behind in his work, he didn't just do the minimum to be done.  But rather, he stayed after class to finish his project and as usual, did work beyond his grade level expectation. Grayson is a wonderful role model for any student. Polite, respectful, and patient.

Westwood Elementary School

Andrew Rindels

As educators, one of the things we love the most about our jobs is the opportunity  to meet and work with awesome and amazing students. And then there are the EXTRAORDINARY students. Not only is Andrew awesome and amazing, he is EXTRAORDINARY! Andrew comes to school every day ready and excited to learn. He puts his best foot forward, every day, all day. He never backs down from a challenge; he has grit. He is also cool, athletic, and most importantly, he is the "kind kid." He treats everyone he meets with kindness and respect. He spends some of his afternoons helping to keep our Westwood students safe by being involved with Safety Patrol. Andrew is a leader. Through his quiet, consistent example, he inspires his peers to follow in his footsteps. Andrew, we are so lucky to have you at Westwood. Kid, you’ll move mountains!

Lily Johnson

Lily is a gem and it warms our hearts to see her everyday.  She is a hard worker that goes above and beyond to meet her goals.  Lily is a leader who is thoughtful, reliable, patient, detail oriented, and a friend to everyone.  No matter who Lily works with, she uplifts that’s team and creates something wonderful! Teachers that have Lily say that she is always KIND, helpful, friendly, understanding, fair, sweet, and accepting of her classmates. Lily is also involved in a variety of activities including student council, school patrol, volleyball, and softball. Lily excels in academics and is always looking for ways to challenge herself.  She hopes to one day be an engineer.  Lily has a bright future and is destined for great things.

Samantha (Sammy) Andresen

Sammy deserves this honor for a multitude of reasons.  She is currently 4th in her senior class with a 4.108 GPA and is a member of the Zimmerman High School Senior Class Officers.  But the main reason she deserves this honor is due to her infectious positive attitude that she brings to school every single day.  She is a bright light in our school and has been for many years.  Thanks for your positivity and leadership, Sammy!
